Measuring
Progress
Georgia Tech is taking an integrated
approach to institutional factors that will support the full
participation and advancement of women and provide a model of
best practices in academic science and engineering.
To aid in disseminating our work and to offer
evidence of our progress we have made the following reports available.

Data
Collection
The ADVANCE program is enlisting the help of Sandi Bramblett,
Director of Institutional Research and Planning, to collect historical
faculty data for use in defining the problem, developing training
and best practices, and promoting future gender equity. ADVANCE
Professor Mary Frank
Fox, with support from the Center
for the Study of Women, Science and Technology, will survey
and interview women faculty both at Georgia Tech and at benchmark
institutions.

Using Data for Practices of Institutional
Transformation Evaluation
ADVANCE has developed an evaluation plan
that includes both an external and an internal evaluator. They
will use both formative and summative evaluation, monitor key
indicators, and employ quantitative and qualitative analysis to
evaluate the impact of the program. Their efforts will serve to
supervise progress and provide continual improvement of program
activities. An annual report will be distributed both on campus
and nationally, and findings will also be reported through publication
in professional journals.
